故事围绕着一个名为《无限斗界》的智力冒险游戏展开，陈阳（冯建宇 饰）和周立（王青 饰）游戏中的两大知名玩家，两人的水平都很高超，不分上下，因此他们年年都要约战，争夺年度总冠军的头衔，而两人每年一度的约战，亦成为了游戏平台上最大的看点。 2016年，陈阳在获得了冠军之后发现周立没有上线，而是留给了他一个记载着某个位置的神秘代码。解开了代码的陈阳来到了海边，在船上发现了一款最新型的VR眼睛。带上了眼睛的陈阳来到了《无限斗界》的世界之中，在这个交织着虚拟和现实的幻境里，等待着陈阳和周立的，是一个有一个的未解谜团，而很快他们便发现，游戏中的谜团和现实里的悬案，有着千丝万缕的关联。
